In general, accommodation in Istria tends more toward vacation apartments and rooms. Most of the apartments and rooms are very well appointed and spotlessly clean.

Rates vary substantially depending on the time of year. June, July and August are the most expensive months but there are still good rates available. Let us put together a package including accommodation and diving. In the autumn and winter, when rates are much lower, Istria has much to offer visitors including great diving. Contact us for info on some off-season bargain hotel/diving packages. While accommodation is harder to find and more expensive during high season, we can usually scout around and find good rates.

Seaside accommodation without breaking the budget. Bring your own caravan/tent or rent one at the campground. All of the campgrounds have amenities such as markets and caffe/bars along with watersports and recreational activities you'd expect but there are differences. Some campgrounds have more restaurant choices. Others have a wider variety of sports activities. There are several campgrounds in and around Pula. They have better waterfront locations than most of the hotels. Stoja campground is always a good choice. It's on the outskirts of Pula although within the city limits so while it has a wonderful wild feel to it, it's convenient to shopping and downtown nightlife all accessible by bus.

Some are pretty much self contained while others are attractive because they are located near a lot of other restaurants, bars, clubs and shopping. It all depends on what sort of atmosphere you're most attracted to.

Local restaurant that serves locally-brewed Favorit draft beer, a pint for about 1.5€ and the best "Buzara" style (wine, olive oil, garlic, herbs and bread crumbs) shrimp anywhere. Another great Pula institution.

Major bus route with frequent service to historic downtown Pula. The bus ride is about 10 minutes and gets you to the heart of old Pula with its Roman Amphitheatre, Hercules Gate, the Golden Gate, literally scores of Roman-era antiquities and the main shopping district.

One of our favorites, Hotel Galija is a family-owned 3-star hotel with 20 luxury rooms and a great chef at the reasonably-priced hotel restaurant. Impressive wine list. Indoor and terrasse dining. Superb service.

It's in the center of Pula within short walking distance of the world's most intact Roman coliseum, the awesome Golden Gate which is a third-century archway entrance to the city, the Roman forum and the Augustus temple. There's lots more to see. The antiquities in Pula are too many to list.
